How to automatically send out every messages posted in a Slack channel to an external email account

Updated 3 years ago by Floriane

Here is how to archive your Slack messages in your email account or to forward the messages posted in a channel to someone who doesn't use Slack:

  1. Go to and click the  “Email Group” button  at the bottom of the page.
  2. During the process, you'll be asked to add Email members: add the email address in which you need to forward the Slack messages.
  3. Once it’s done, use the Slack share function to share the Slack messages in the channel.
All the messages posted there will be automatically send out to the email address you’ve added as a member of the email group.

To post a message in the channel without sending it out, just start your message with the emoji :mute: 🔇
